Looks like Solar Jetman from way back in the NES days, I like it! Would be nice if the ship was just a little bigger and maybe less generic looking. Looks pretty fun nonetheless:)

Hi ScaryPotato. I wrote this game, but I hadn’t played Solar Jetman. Just went and looked up some pictures of it and I can see the resemblance. I played more Asteroids and Oids when I was a kid. Other people have had similar comments on the ship. I’m still trying to decide what to do about it, so I’m open to suggestions. The small ship gives the player an advantage at sneaking through tight spaces, but it might be too hard to see on small monitors.

The visuals on this game look stunning. Combine that with the lighting and I’m blown away. I loved Oids on the ST so can’t wait to see a rebooted cave-flyer for modern times. There’s clearly tons of care and attention to detail going into it, so I’m definitely going to be in the queue come release day. Best thing about Oids, though … the level designer. I’d love to see a level designer in this.
