Magnakaron is a horizontal shooter where you control a guy with a jetpack and swirl around in space to shoot stuff. You can also throw bombs and use your sword for close combat situations.
From the Homepage:
Magnakaron is a slightly non-traditional shoot’em up. One might draw a comparison to Section-Z for the NES or similar titles for the fact that the character’s facing direction is controllable.
The player controls the titular mech in side-scrolling stages. There are several weapons to equip that will have to be bought. The damage system is different from normal shmups in that there are hit points. In addition, the player will take a certain amount of damage on a rechargeable guage before actually losing a hit point. The default hit point max is 2. The player won’t take damage from touching enemies as is the norm, but damage is taken from explosions; even from the player’s weapons.
